Yesterday the ownCloud Client team released the ownCloud Client 1.2.0 beta 2. It includes a couple of improvements compared to beta 1 which was released before Christmas. The release of version 1.2.0 is planned for the next week if things go smooth. [caption id=“attachment_219” align=“alignright” width=“595”] New Sync Protocol Dialog[/caption] In particular, the the following improvements were added: Proxy authentication fixed (Basic auth, NTLM will not yet work) The status dialog now provides statistics on the last sync run (via the info button). It will tell in detail which files have been synced, added or deleted. Client will go offline while the server in in maintenance mode (feature available with ownCoud master only) Improved SSL Certificate acceptance All sizes of the new icons are available. Support files > 2 GB on all platforms for uploading. Fixed some minor memory leaks and again saved some server requests through optimizations. Improved error reporting to the user. Short before Christmas here is another present for you: After more than one year without release I am happy to announce the availability of Kraft 0.50, the latest version of the KDE software for easy quote and invoice management. The most important change is that now multiple tax rates are supported within one document. That means that within e.g. one invoice items without tax, with reduced and full tax rate are supported. Along with todays ownCloud 4.5 release we released the new ownCloud Client 1.1.0 with a new syncing concept. This blog will shed some light on the details. I apologize, it’s a long read. as you might know, ownCloud uses the Open Build Service (short OBS) to produce and distribute the binary packages for the various distributions we want to support. The OBS is a great system as it does not only build for various Linuxes but also lets the users download the binary packages utilizing a huge mirroring infrastructure. All for you, all for the good of free software. And there is even more: OBS offers a nice download page which can either be embedded into a projects webpage or be linked from it. Depending on the settings of the OBS project, for example the number of Linuxes it builds for, the page is adopted automatically. It’s release day today: This morning, ownCloud 4 was released! With a very cool set of features it’s even more useful and again more fun to use. Along with that I am happy to let you know that we also released the ownCloud Desktop Client in version 1.0.2. It is a maintenance release with a couple of important bugfixes, such as the cross platform filename encoding problem I was already talking about. Apart from that big blocker a couple of smaller, but annoying problems were fixed. Also the GUI was polished, text changes here and there and a new icon set that looks more cool and more like ownCloud. ...
